Choose your side?

I have just had a brilliant idea what if you were able to choose the side to go on before a mission for example you could be able to choose either the forces of order or forces of disorder depending on what factions are in each.For example between space pirates or the federation(If you have a character for either faction).Pretty cool suggestion in my view

This not a bad idea. Though haven't people already have done this? Like in the Elysia mission my character Rildok faced off with another one of my characters plus two other peoples characters.
