Return of the X (Post Fusion/Post Equipment Recovery Mission)

The Federation gains access to Metroid DNA thanks to Slyix, how ever, instead of creating Metroids like Slyix had Hoped, they reverse engineer the X parasites instead. Now Slyix joins a group of Federation Soldiers to stop the revival of the X.

Slyix (My Main Character)
Admiral Dame, (The leader of the rebels)
Ghor (Don't worry, its just an old recording of him, I'm not bringing him back to life by some stupid means that would piss everyone off,)

sorry, but it wouldn't be possible to reverse engineer the X from metroid DNA. but you could always have them use old X research from the nightmaer project, which created the character Nightmaer knight, after all, controlling the disease and the cure gives you a lot of leeway in most any situation.
By the way, the reason that you couldn't reverse engineer x-parasites from metroid DNA is because metroids are created entirely independent of the X, their purpose (chozo made metroids anyway) is destroying the X by consuming them, but they don't find basis in X DNA to allow them to absorb the X, so there wouldn't be anything to work with.

Maybe it is the mix of the research then, because I ment for them to use the Metroid instinct of hunting X or something like that. But a mix would make more sense, so its a mix of the research.

they aren't actually possessing of an instinct to hunt the X, X just happen to be creatures that fall even more easily into their food chain than anything else.

Well let's say its a mix because of the X being the Metroid Main food source and because of the nightmare research.

ok, whatever. I don't really mind, I just wanted to point out the plotholes in the original idea (you know, the ones based on sciencey stuff involving DNA), I'm all for this idea. again, Espera would work quite well, especially considering he has X samples alive being used for food and genetics experimentation, he would probably want to break up the competition.
