Twin Fever: Study and Hopeful Extermination of a Deadly Virus from the Wild

Samus replied for Dune. "I took the liberty of scanning the air here before i took off my helmet. The air is safe."

"If she says it's safe, then why not take off the helmet? I choose not to for personal reasons, what's your reason?" says Hiraito directed at Akiba.

"I listen to music..."
Instead, Akiba just puts on the whole suit.
"That better?"
Akiba redirects his attention to the alien, who looks upset. To show respect, he takes off his helmet, but realizes something.
"I have the flu. I should keep this on. May we come into your village? We'll be in and out, probably less than a week."
The man stands there for a moment and thinks.

Dune looked around. "Something feels strange.." She said quietly, not loud enough for the Tabulain to hear. Samus nodded, still talking to the Tabulain. "Yes, we're here trying to find the cure for the Twin Fever." She put her helmet on again.

The Tabulain put his hand to his holster and grabbed his pistol.
"Leave. Now."
"Sir, we are here to find the cure. If we could just pass through-"
"Leave."
Akiba turns around and opens a private channel so the man can't hear.
"Anybody got any ideas?"

"The only suggestions I'd give would be what you wouldn't want to do. So I got nothing to contribute." says Hiraito, a little humor in his voice for the first sentence.

"Actually if he continues I just might allow for that."
Akiba turns back around.
"Sir, we have superior firepower and armor. If you don't stand down then we'll force our way through."
The man looks at the other hunters and remembers Samus. He steps aside.
"Sorry, Hiraito. No explosions for you."
Akiba begins walking in and notices the dizzy residents. Probably from Twin Fever, so He turned to the group.
"Put on your helmets."

Dune nodded and put on her helmet again, following Samus. Samus remained silent as she walked around, making scans of the people she encountered. Most seemed ill, though she knew those that weren't were probably going to die soon. It was painful to see. Dune had walked up to the man they had spoken to earlier. "Do you all have a communal food or water source? Do you all handle the bodies?" She asked the man, wanting to know how it was spread.

Cliodna was looking at the aliens carefully. She wasn't aware craniates lived on Twin Tabula. She laughed in her head wondering if all were born twins.

Akiba notices a building labeled "Employees only." He asks the alien from before,
"May we go inside?"

((Me?))
Samus sighed. "Akiba, you just threatened him. I don't think he's going to say no."

"Akiba threatened somebody?" Shasta thought back a bit. "Oh. That wasn't really a threat as much as it was a... Yeah, it was a threat."

Akiba was mad. They were under federation orders. He should've placed him under arrest; by denying them access he was basically saying 'shoot me.' He goes inside, but finds just the back area of what seems to be an office building.
"Thought it might've been like a... body storage area. Move on."

"Like i said." Samus replied, walking around. Dune seemed to have disappeared, and was looking around for something everyone had used to confirm how virus was spread.

Shasta charged his PED, keeping it concealed. He looked over the aliens carefully. They didn't seem trustworthy.

"There."
Akiba, now much more serious, said
"That fountain. It's here in the center. Shasta, please do a scan for Twin Fever in and around it."

"Alright." Shasta scanned the fountain, checking for even individuals of the virus.

"It has slight t races. It doesn't seem like it would be a source or anything."

Dune appeared again, and shook her head. "I had a good look around, but nothing seemed to be the source. For all we know, this thing is airborne." Samus sighed. "Well that doesn't make sense, I scanned the air hundreds of times. No virus is in the air."

Shasta combined it with an infrared display. "No wonder... The virus is very heat sensitive. There seems to be quite a bit of it this way."

The concentration was near the fountain. A small hole in the middle swarmed with it. The source was below the hole. He waved the others over.
